It is a term that is very specific and does NOT include Republicans.
“Truth is always slower than lies, because truth needs to carry facts. Lies don’t.”
Republicans, Independents and Democrats saved our democracy during the last general election. Those Republicans followed the law and did their duty as election officials. They kept the election free of fraud. They were not intimidated by threats and actual physical attacks.
Republicans defended the rule of law. Probably all the people who publicly testified before the January 6th Committee were Republican and all were under oath. Each witness was threatened by people too cowardly to do it publicly. The former president and his staff made very personal and slanderous attacks. Some of these Republican witnesses lost their jobs, friends and even family because they told the truth under oath. They demonstrated the strength of true Republicans.
Democratic Party lost some supporters when they became followers of Trump. These drifters felt ignored and justified in falling away. Democrats tend to be empathetic with the jobless, underpaid workers which is why the Dems support minimum wage laws. Dems generally approve of increased immigration to revitalize small businesses and having more workers to fill the service jobs needed to decrease inflation. Dems recognize that having a darker skin color is still a handicap for many jobs and efficient, honest unions increase number of people able to be in the middle class.
Democrats favor better educational opportunities for all. They didn’t work hard enough for junior colleges and trade schools. Damn it, we desperately need more good mechanics, trades workers, teachers and nurses. We need more good daycare so parents, especially mothers, can get back to our companies.
Independent voters rarely become a Trump supporter, because they think for themselves and get their news from several sources so they have a better overview of what is happening, why it is happening and who is most responsible for the problems.
Independent voters watched the videos of the January 6th attack on our democracy. They wanted to learn what the January 6th Committee discovered and found that the attack was planned and supported by Trump’s people. When the attack failed, these same people denied that there was an attack thus there is no need to investigate what never happened.
So, Trumplicans are not Republican, Independent or Democratic, so what are they?
Trumplicans come in at least two classes.
Trumplican politicians are enablers who are in an abusive relationship with Trump. They need his endorsement to keep their government jobs, so they’ll parrot any words or policies that Trump says.
“The 2020 election was stolen. The physical attacks on police guarding the Capitol were simply patriots protecting their right to free speech. The FBI had no right to take back top-secret government documents from my home. I can declassify documents just by thinking about it.”
Trumplican politicians know the truth, but are afraid of Trump’s rathe and hope to be in his government when he returns to power.
Trumplican voters are tuned to FOX news all the time. They are addicted and need daily reinforcement to justify their fears which they acquired from FOX news. If viewers can’t get their daily fix they suffer, just like smokers who just quit and alcoholics who don’t drink on the Sabbath. If media is not addictive, why are people always looking at their phones, even in traffic?
Trumplican voters want all knowledge in black and white, left or right and right or wrong. Too much information causes confusion and shows contradictions between what I’m told and what I see. Facts can be an uncomfortable burden to carry.
Trumplican voters send their hard earned money to support a billionaire.
A Trumplican is not a Republican, Independent or Democrat. These three are political groups. A Trumplican follows a theology which is an unquestioned belief. This theology has no established laws setting conduct but only pronouncements of the “Chosen One.” As long as the “Chosen One” lives, only He makes reality and can tell us what must be done. He is not bound by laws or a Constitution because his election was stolen.
What must a Trumplican voter believe:
That Trump’s election was stolen thus justifying whatever he does.
That Trump is the way, the truth and all must follow only Him to “Make America Great Again.”
That threats and violence can trump democracy.
